Repeat medication queries and how to synchronise repeat medication
PLEASE ORDER YOUR REPEAT MEDICATION IN GOOD TIME SO YOU DO NOT RUN OUT.
WE ALLOW 5 DAYS TO PROCESS A REPEAT MEDICATION REQUEST.
You can order your repeat medication online and nominate a pharmacy to collect the medication from.
You can also tick the medication you require on your repeat slip and leave it at reception.
If you have lost your repeat slip you must fill in a medication request form at the surgery.
Ideally you should be ordering all your repeat medications at the same time to improve efficiency for yourself and the practice. If you would like to synchronise all your repeats we can issue one off acute prescriptions of a smaller number. You can calculate the number of each item required and fill in a medication request form, ask your pharmacist to help you, or discuss this at your medication review with a clinician.
It is a national NHS expectation that GPs may prescribe a maximum of 3 months medication for patients going on extended holidays. For periods longer than three months or for patients moving abroad sufficient medication to allow the patient to access healthcare at their destination should be prescribed (this should not exceed three months supply).
